Base hire gives you private, exclusive access to the full studio space for your photo or video shoot. This includes the floor-to-ceiling seamless white infinity cove (8m wide by 4m high, with a 4m ceiling clearance and 4.6m shooting throw), 3 seamless vinyl backdrop rolls (Arctic White, Jet Black, and Chroma Green), our dedicated styling station with illuminated Hollywood vanity mirrors, barber's chair, clothing rails, garment steamer, client lounge area, high-speed fiber Wi-Fi, and complimentary tea and artisan coffee.

Base hire is unequipped dry hire so you can bring your own gear without paying for items you do not need. If you need lighting, you can add our recommended Pro Lighting Package (£50 half day / £80 full day), which provides 3x Elemental 300W studio strobes, 3x heavy-duty C-stands with grip arms, 2x 900mm Neewer light domes, 1x rectangular softbox, wireless triggers, sync cords, and sandbags ready on arrival.

Base hire includes 3 seamless heavy-duty vinyl backdrops: Arctic White, Jet Black, and Chroma Green screen. If your shoot requires seamless color paper backgrounds, we stock professional Colorama paper rolls charged at £15 per metre soiled or walked on. You are also welcome to bring your own standard 2.72m paper rolls to mount on our studio background hooks at no additional charge.

Yes. We offer premium camera and production gear hire from £60 per day. Available equipment includes Sony Alpha full-frame camera bodies, Sony G-Master prime and zoom lenses, wireless DJI lavalier microphones, and camera gimbals. Please request your equipment checklist when submitting your booking request so items can be prepped and charged for your arrival.

Yes. You can add a Studio Tech Assist (£120 half day / £216 full day) for hands-on help setting up lighting grids, balancing exposures, and swapping backdrops. If you need vertical video and social clips captured during your session, our dedicated BTS Content Creator (£240 half day / £420 full day) shoots high-resolution reels and TikTok-ready b-roll.

Absolutely. The Exeter Studio is fully dry-hire friendly. You are welcome to bring your own continuous LED lights, flash strobes, camera rigs, props, sets, and clothing racks. Multiple 13A power distribution blocks and heavy-duty extension reels are available throughout the studio floor.

The Exeter Studio is not VAT registered, so all listed rates for studio hire and modular upgrades include VAT (no additional VAT is charged). We issue standard commercial invoices with clear bank transfer details upon booking confirmation. There are no hidden fees or cleaning charges provided the studio is returned in a tidy condition.

The studio is open Monday to Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. All access, drop-offs, and site viewings are strictly by advance booking and appointment only to guarantee complete privacy and zero interruptions for ongoing client shoots. Sundays are closed for routine maintenance and cyclorama repaint resets. Early morning crew arrivals or evening shoots can occasionally be arranged by prior request.

We are situated at Unit 6c, Bakers Yard, Alphin Brook Road, Marsh Barton, Exeter, EX2 8RG. Dedicated on-site parking is available right outside the unit for easy loading and unloading of camera and styling gear.

Yes, the space is routinely used for brand video interviews, product demonstrations, green-screen recording, and social reels. Because the studio is located in Bakers Yard on the Marsh Barton business estate, it is generally quiet, though it is not a soundproofed acoustic soundstage. We recommend using directional boom microphones or wireless lavaliers for crisp voice capture.

Yes. For e-commerce retailers, fashion labels, and commercial photographers who shoot on a regular weekly or monthly basis, we offer secure on-site product storage lockers from £36 per month. This allows you to store clothing samples, props, and merchandise safely between sessions without needing to transport stock back and forth.

Bakers Yard and Marsh Barton offer plenty of convenient amenities within walking distance or a short 2-minute drive. For food and coffee, you can visit local cafes in Marsh Barton, as well as nearby Lidl and McDonald's for quick crew meals and snacks. If you need shoot essentials, tape, rigging gear, or DIY fixings, there are also major hardware stores and trade merchants located right on the Marsh Barton business estate.

Please note that The Exeter Studio is situated on the first floor accessed via stairs and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. If you have specific accessibility or equipment loading questions, please reach out ahead of booking.

Simply submit your preferred date, session length, and required upgrades through our online booking form or via email. We will confirm slot availability and issue a clear invoice with bank transfer details to hold and confirm your booking. All listed prices include VAT.

Bookings rescheduled or cancelled with at least 48 hours' notice before session start receive a free date transfer or full refund. Cancellations made with 24 to 48 hours' notice forfeit 50% of the booking fee, while cancellations under 24 hours or no-shows forfeit 100%. Booked Half Day (up to 4 hours) and Full Day (up to 8 hours) windows include arrival, setup, and pack-down, with agreed extensions or overruns billed at £45 per hour as detailed in our Studio Hire Terms & Conditions.
